Tim’m T. West
Founder & Principal Consultant
With more than two decades of experience as a writing instructor and editor under his belt, in college-based and online settings, Professor Tim’m West wanted to offer an individualized writing consultation service not available with current online writing centers or one-time consultations at Writing Centers. MyWritingProfessor.com offers a personal touch you can afford. Educated at Duke University, The New School for Social Research, and Stanford University, Tim’m has a long history of successful writing consultation in academic settings, specifically in the Humanities and Social Sciences.
Because his professional experiences have always paralleled work in the non-profit sector, he also has a broad range of experiences in the areas of non-profit program development, college admissions, grant writing, curriculum development, and manuscript editing. Additionally, he has been both a copy and content editor for several creative manuscripts– helping writers not only refine their projects grammatically, but conceptualize them more clearly. From his work as co-professor of Writing Pedagogy and consultant at the Eugene Lang College Writing Center, to teaching positions in Northern California, or his more recent work as Adjunct Professor in English, Humanities, and Philosophy at Houston Community College, Tim’m’s approach to writing is about meeting clients where they are, finding realistic ways to improve the quality of writing given varied skill sets, and maximizing client potential. His objective is not simply to help you through a single assignment or project, but leave you with something that will enable your independence as a student, writer, or professional.
Professor Nancy Olson is a Jill of All Trades – an accomplished grant writer, historian, and copywriter who earned her Master’s Degree in collaboration with one of Canada’s pre-eminant historians. Over the past ten years, her grant-writing has won over $5M for a wide variety of non-profit initiatives, and she has helped hundreds of job seekers write cover letters and resumes, with an over 80% placement rate. New and innovative community services exist today because of her ability to write and edit policy documents to convince elected officials that they should. She has written briefing notes for government ministers and speeches for politicians.
Nancy has managed, written, and edited copy for a 1,000 page Canadian government website, and she has helped numerous post-secondary students meet their writing and application deadlines to showcase each individual’s knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm. As a consultant, she has always found satisfaction in juggling multiple skill sets to complete projects on time and within budget, and as a teacher she loves to foster the growth of her students with just the right combination of respect, empowerment…and the support and information to get the job done. Associations love her, job seekers seek her out, and dangling participles fear her!
